RAIN, THUNDERSTORMS AND HAIL FROM LUNCHTIME ONWARDS

Low pressure affects the area.

Today, after the dissipation of the local sparse fog and low cloud, the weather will become partly cloudy and at times mostly cloudy, while gradually and mainly during the midday hours and after, local rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected. Hail is also expected to fall in a thunderstorm, while visibility may be temporarily limited. On the highest peaks of Troodos, snow or sleet will fall. The winds will blow mainly southeast to southwest, mild to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and the sea will be a little turbulent. The temperature will rise around 16 degrees in the interior, around 18 degrees on the coast and 8 degrees in the higher mountains.

Tonight, the weather will remain partly cloudy and temporarily cloudy in places, while isolated showers and possibly isolated thunderstorms are expected, mainly in coastal areas. Hail may also fall in a thunderstorm. Later and during the dawn hours, in areas of the interior and in the east, sparse fog or fog may form. The winds will blow downhill, weak, 3 Beaufort and the sea will be calm until a little turbulent. The temperature will drop to around 6 degrees in the interior, around 10 degrees on the coast and 1 degree in the higher mountains, where frost is expected to form locally.

On Friday and Saturday, the weather will be cloudy at times, with localised showers and isolated thunderstorms expected. In a thunderstorm, hail may fall while on the highest peaks of Troodos, snow or sleet is likely.

On Sunday, locally increased clouds are expected to produce isolated showers and possibly isolated thunderstorms, particularly during the midday hours and beyond. In a thunderstorm, hail may fall while on the highest peaks of Troodos, snow or sleet is likely.

The temperature on Friday is not expected to change significantly, but on Saturday it will rise slightly and on Sunday it will remain at the same levels, to be slightly above the average climatic values for the season.
