Pafos Live 10 January 2024
The Pafos Region Tourism Development and Promotion Company continues in 2024 the implementation of actions to upgrade the digital presence of the destination.
Aiming at a holistic approach to the issue, we plan to start implementing a relevant study / evaluation of the level of digital presence of the destination in March so that we know exactly where we are. We will then use the findings to design the new digital marketing strategy and propose various recommendations at provincial level and centrally in the state. The aim is to radically upgrade the level of digital presence of the destination, businesses and all parties involved in the tourism industry.
At the same time, as a destination, we are investing in the expansion of the institution of smart signs (QR) with phase 5 with the creation of approximately 25 additional signs that include a wide range of information options in 5 languages, audio tour, rich texts, and photographic material, video, 360 tour, etc.
In addition, we continue together with hoteliers, Hermes Airports and Hellenic Bank for the third consecutive year to invest more than €220,000 in a year-round digital campaign in priority markets so that Paphos is included in the first travel choices in 2024 and we further enhance the upgrade of the digital material and tools available to the destination.
In the first four months, we are expected to launch the integrated smart application for highlighting the Myth of Goddess Aphrodite, which includes technological innovations, augmented reality, etc., while at the same time we are examining the adoption of AI (Artistic Intelligence) technologies in the services of the destination together with a team of partners.
Paphos as a destination has managed in recent years to achieve a significant presence in the digital environment, adapts to the needs of today's individual visitors and systematically invests in new technologies and innovative practices as part of its strategy to continue competing worthily with resounding names in the global tourism arena.
