Universal concern and mobilization of all the people of the port of Kato Paphos was caused over the weekend.
The reason for the unrest this time was not problems from the redevelopment works in progress in the area, nor unexpected issues in relation to tourist or commercial traffic in the port.
The alarm was raised because of Kokos, the famous pelican that has been transformed for decades now into the trademark of the port of Kato Pafos and which in the previous days showed worrying signs regarding its health. The owner of the popular pelican, Andros Papiris, told "F" that Cocos had been appearing in recent days particularly unwell, with no appetite for his famous walks on land, nor for the photos in which he is used to posing with tourists. Not even his favourite fish meals seemed to pique his interest, he said.
This situation caused the intense interest of all businessmen in the area, since the pelican has become an attraction and a pole of attraction for visitors for the entire coastal area and not only for the restaurant that bears its name. As a result of the whole picture that the famous pelican gave for 48 hours, one of the most famous veterinarians in Cyprus was called, specializing in cases such as this one, in order to find out with certainty what was happening with Coco.
His examination by Dr. Yiapanis and the medical report were fortunately reassuring, as Mr. Papiris said that Cocos suffered from a temporary virus that caused him to become unwell and lack of mobility, but its consequences have already passed.
Suffice it to say that yesterday Cocos enjoyed two whole kilos of fish for his meal, his owner concluded.
