Yesterday around 7 pm, as part of an operation to police an event held in Limassol, a search was carried out on a vehicle driven by a 30-year-old man in Limassol, with four persons aged 28, 24, 34 and 20 as passengers, all residents of Nicosia.
In a subsequent search, a shoulder bag containing three sprays, a metal hammer and a hood was found inside the vehicle, which were found to belong to the 24-year-old, who was arrested for the offence of illegal possession and transport of an offensive instrument.
Also, around 7.10pm. yesterday, members of the Police stopped for search a vehicle driven by a 20-year-old, with three more 23-year-olds and a 20-year-old as passengers, all residents of Nicosia.
Inside the vehicle, two iron fists, three knives and a fire extinguisher were found and received as evidence. All passengers were arrested for the offenses of conspiracy to commit a misdemeanor, unlawful possession and transportation of offensive instruments and stabbing.
Subsequently, those arrested, having been charged in writing, were released to be summoned before a Court.
At the same time, information was received by the Police that a 43-year-old resident of Larnaka is inciting persons from various districts to attend the venue of the event, in order to oppose the participants.
A judicial arrest warrant was issued against the 43-year-old under which he was arrested and detained to facilitate interrogations.

There is no end to the attacks against foreign food distributors in Limassol.
Three foreigners from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and India were robbed by masked youths on motorcycles, with the attackers attacking them and stealing their food, motorcycle and mobile phones.
The first incident occurred around 21:45 p.m. when, according to the complaint, a food delivery man, while riding his motorcycle, was approached by six motorcycles with six young people on board and had their faces covered with hoods. They threw him to the ground, beat him and then stole his purse containing €450 and two mobile phones. The complainant was not injured.
The second incident was reported at dawn today by a foreigner from Bangladesh. According to the food delivery man around 23:30 p.m. last night, he was approached by two motorcycles on which three young people were wearing hoods, beat him, stole his motorcycle, order and amount of money as well as his cell phone.
The third attack against a foreigner took place at 11:45, when two motorcycles approached a food distributor at the roundabout of Polemidia. The 4 perpetrators, who were wearing hoods, attacked him and threw him to the ground, stole his bag with €100 as well as his motorcycle.
According to the complainants, they have not been injured. For its part, the Police continue to examine the masked men, while CCTV footage of the areas is being sought.
