The square of the community of Mandria was inaugurated on Sunday, with a contract cost of €764,990 plus VAT. According to the District Officer of Pafos, Mary Lambrou, the aim of the Pafos District Administration and the Ministry of Interior is to improve the lives of rural residents by Creation of infrastructure projects, such as the improvement of roads under their responsibility, flood protection works, sidewalks, creation of exhibition and museum spaces as well as spaces for the elderly.
According to the District Officer of Pafos who inaugurated the square, the project lasted 12 months, starting on 19.4.21 and completing on 19.4.22.
As Mrs. Lambrou said, the square can be used by the Community Council and residents for various events, but also as a place for socializing and socializing.
She also announced that for the community they plan soon and as soon as all permits are secured, the construction of an event hall / cultural centre on a state plot with an expected cost of about €900,000 plus VAT. Completion of the project is expected in 2025, he added.
She added that for this year there are about €55,000 in the budget for various basic infrastructure projects, such as road improvements and pavement construction.
In the annual budget of the Pafos District Administration, they have appropriations of €12 million for development expenditures and their effort is focused on the equal distribution of resources with mature projects in the various communities, she concluded.
