A 27-year-old man was arrested by Paphos Police for burglary of a residence and theft of money. Paphos Police Director Nikos Tsapis said on Monday that a residential burglary and theft of a sum of 2,100 euros, an identity card and keys were reported.
After further examinations, the police proceeded to arrest a 27-year-old man, while a search of his residence found the amount of €1,950 euros as well as the personal belongings of the complainant that were stolen.
Mr. Tsapis said that the 27-year-old was arrested and under questioning admitted to committing the offenses, while during the investigation he attacked the police officers and was arrested.
The same night, in Geroskipou, a 66-year-old man was swept away by a passing vehicle and slightly injured.
According to police, the 66-year-old was attempting to cross the central avenue of Geroskipou when, under circumstances that are being investigated, he was swept away by a vehicle driven by a 30-year-old man. He was transported by ambulance to Paphos Hospital which, according to the on-duty doctor, was slightly injured and detained as a precaution.
The 30-year-old driver underwent a zero-alcohol test. The examinations are continued by the Paphos Traffic Police.

The Police arrested a 19-year-old resident of Limassol yesterday to facilitate investigations into an ongoing case of illegal possession of drugs. For the same case, three more minors were summoned to the offices of YKAN (Limassol District Unit) for questioning. As part of the searches, a quantity of cannabis, dried mushrooms, believed to contain narcotics and LSD papers were found and seized.
According to police, around 4:30 p.m. Yesterday, a member of Team Z, Limassol Traffic Police, while on motorized patrol, spotted a car parked outside a fast food restaurant in Limassol and from it three passengers exited and entered the fast food restaurant. The member of the Police approached the driver, who was waiting inside the vehicle, for a check.
It was found that the driver was a 19-year-old resident of Limassol. A search found him in possession of a quantity of cannabis with a gross weight of approximately 12 grams, a number of cannabis plant strains, two dried mushrooms believed to contain narcotics, a precision scale with traces of cannabis and 31.5 pieces of coloured paper, believed to be impregnated with LSD. As a result, the 19-year-old was arrested for a flagrant offence and taken into custody to facilitate interrogations.
In a subsequent search inside the vehicle, two waist bags containing a quantity of cannabis, with a total gross weight of approximately 38 grams, two precision scales and a crusher with traces of cannabis, were found and confiscated as evidence.
As part of the police investigations that followed, the 19-year-old's home was searched, where six nylon packages of dried mushrooms, believed to contain narcotics and a quantity of cannabis, with a gross weight of approximately 23 grams, were located and seized.
From the continuation of examinations, it was found that the other three persons, who were in the vehicle, were three minors, aged 17. The minors were summoned and came to the offices of YKAN, where, after being interrogated, they were released without being charged in writing, pending the completion of the scientific examinations.
The YKAN (Limassol District Unit) is investigating the case.

An arrest warrant has been issued for a 46-year-old man from Paphos who allegedly threatened a 65-year-old man also from Paphos that he would damage his vehicles and his home if he did not repay his son's debt.
According to the 65-year-old's complaint, the 46-year-old called him on two occasions from two different phone numbers making his threats. The 46-year-old, based on the complaints, was acting for a third person with whom the 65-year-old's son allegedly has financial disputes since 2014.
Police obtained a warrant for the 46-year-old's arrest, he was sought but has not yet been located.

A 43-year-old civil servant of the Citizen Service Center was handcuffed by the Police regarding the circuit of granting driving licenses to foreigners.
According to information, from the preliminary examinations, it is found that she received all 20 applications of foreigners for renewal of driving licenses on which there were forged forms.
At the same time, testimony emerged against a 57-year-old Greek Cypriot from Limassol who is engaged in the provision of services and a court warrant was obtained against him and he was arrested. He was apparently helping the 65-year-old Greek Cypriot who is already in detention.
Further testimony emerged about two more foreigners and judicial arrest warrants were issued against them and they are wanted.
So far, four Greek Cypriots and five foreigners have been arrested, while 18 others are wanted.

Police are looking for three persons in order to identify and locate them.
Specifically, today around 15:00 the three unknown persons, foreigners, two men and one woman, went to a goldsmith's shop located in the area of Germasogeia and with a trick managed to steal a diamond, five carats, worth €180,000.
Three weeks earlier, one of the three went to the jewellery shop where he told the owner that he was interested in buying a diamond. Today the three went again to the jewellery shop and bought a gold chain worth €400 and then managed to fool the owner by exchanging the real diamond for another dummy.
After they departed, the owner realized the theft and alerted the Police.
