Police in Paphos arrested one person for illegal possession of property and drugs.
According to Pafos Police spokesperson Michalis Nicolaou, at two o'clock in the morning, members of the Pafos ICF and the Traffic Police intercepted a 25-year-old person who was being trafficked suspiciously on a Paphos road.
A body search found him in possession of a laptop computer, two mobile phones, two watches, a pair of glasses and some other objects as well as a quantity of a crystal substance resembling methamphetamine.
Under questioning, the 25-year-old, who hails from an African country, did not give a satisfactory explanation to find him.
He was arrested and taken into custody while investigations into the case continue.

The amount of €20,000 was stolen, according to a complaint to the police, from the house of a priest of the Agia Anna community in the Larnaka district.
According to Haris Hadjigiasemi, spokesman of the Larnaka Police Headquarters, the 78-year-old priest reported to the police that between the hours of 7 pm on April 9 and 8.30 on the evening of April 10, his house in the community of Agia Anna was burglarised, from where a sum of money amounting to €20,000 was stolen.
Specifically, from one bag the amount of €12,000 was stolen and from a second the amount of €8,000.
Police officers of the Kofinou Police Station went to the scene and began investigations with the aim of collecting evidence in order to identify the unknown persons who committed the burglary and theft.
The case is being investigated by the Kofinou Police Station.

Measured in equal quantity in 13 nylon bags was heroin found in the possession of the two Indians, who were arrested on Sunday night, outside a hotel staying in Limassol. The examinations of the Limassol YKAN show that the two foreigners were preparing to go out to the "bazaar" to sell heroin to other persons.
The two arrested were brought yesterday morning before the Limassol District Court where a case was registered against them. The 32-year-old appeared in court with obvious symptoms of withdrawal syndrome with the YKAN Police officers taking the appropriate action until the court proceedings are completed. The Court ordered that they remain under trial in Central Prison until the start of the trial, which was set for April 20, with both being asked to answer the charges they face.
The indictment includes 11 counts of conspiracy, unlawful use of a Class A controlled drug, possession, possession with intent to supply and money laundering. The two Indians, aged 32 and 30, were spotted walking near the hotel where they were staying, while "F" is informed that they work as food deliverers.
A search of the 32-year-old found and seized 13 nylon packages containing heroin with a total gross weight of about four grams as well as the sum of €475. This was followed by a court warrant search of a hotel room where the two foreigners were staying, where six used syringes, an electronic scale with traces of heroin and a nylon piece of heroin weighing 5.6 grams were found and confiscated. Further examinations revealed that the 30-year-old Indian has been staying illegally in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus since December 2021.

Members of the Police handcuffed 8 persons yesterday, as part of the checks carried out before the start of yesterday's football match between APOEL – APOLLON, which took place at GSP Stadium.
Specifically, at around 18: 15 in the afternoon yesterday, members of the anti-riot teams stopped for inspection a car in which two persons aged 21, both from the Limassol district, were traveling. During the ensuing search, a bag containing five balaclavas, a folding bat, two iron fists, two spray paints and two torches was found under the driver's seat, which the first 21-year-old allegedly admitted to be his. Also in the possession of the second 21-year-old were found 11 firecrackers. The above persons were arrested for flagrant offences and were detained.
Also, a car with four persons on board was stopped for inspection and during the check that followed, the driver handed over to the members of the Police a bag containing a flare, a hood and two crushers with traces of dry cannabis plant matter.
The 25-year-old, who was in the vehicle, reportedly admitted the bag was his and was arrested. A second bag containing 10 flares was also found which the 29-year-old allegedly admitted to be his own and was also arrested. A further check found a sports bag containing a sea smoke canister and two hand flares which the second 25-year-old allegedly admitted to be his own. A folding bat was also found, allegedly belonging to a 31-year-old man, who was arrested. All the above persons were detained.
In another vehicle check carried out by the members of the Police, a 90cm long piece of wood was found in it. The 24-year-old driver of the vehicle, a resident of the Limassol district, was arrested and detained.
All the above arrested persons are expected to appear today before the Nicosia District Court for immediate registration of cases.
Finally, during a body search carried out on a 20-year-old man from Nicosia district, a handmade cigarette 10cm long containing manufactured tobacco mixed with dry cannabis plant matter was found in his waist bag and he was arrested. He was then charged in writing and released to be summoned to court.
The examinations are continued by the ICF Nicosia and the YKAN.
