Sulphuric acid was thrown at a small dog in Paphos, as reported by its owner to the Police.
The complaint was made on Friday, but the complainant said she became aware of the unthinkable incident on Wednesday. Paphos Police Department spokesman Michalis Nikolaou said the owner of the dog initially realized that her dog was injured in the back and had a severe burn. The complainant then took her dog to the vet who realized that the injury was caused by caustic liquid.
The dog remained for observation without any concern for its life. The woman then reported the case to the Police who are investigating the case without the perpetrators having been identified so far.
The Party for the Animals of Cyprus also issued a statement on this heinous act.
