A new complaint reached the hands of the Party for the Animals of Cyprus, according to which at least 5 cats were shot with gunshot.
According to a relevant announcement, at least 5 cats were shot with a gunshot, one of which died, three were rescued, while another attempt is being made to catch others by volunteer rescuers.
This macabre event began on Saturday and continued until early Monday in the Pernera area, as claimed by the Party for the Animals of Cyprus.
According to the announcement, tourists, who came to Cyprus for holidays, faced this sad situation.
The case has already been reported to the Paralimni Police, visits were made to the area and testimonies were submitted by tourists, who, during their holidays, fed cats in the area where they lived.
This shocking event was recorded by tourists, through photographs, sent to the Party for the Animals.
As reported by the Party for the Animals, the photographic material and the testimony clearly show the tragic situation in which the innocent animals found themselves.
It stresses again that the possession and use of firearms or non-firearms are regulated by the relevant legislation (113(I)2004 and the penalties constitute 2 years' imprisonment or 5 thousand euros or both, while calling on the Chief of Police and the services of the state to immediately clarify the case and if and when the case is criminally established, then the alleged culprits be led there and as they deserve.
