The Larnaca District Court imposed a 6-month prison sentence on the 55-year-old Ukrainian woman, who last August had threatened Russians with a knife, during the celebrations for the day of the Russian flag.
The incident occurred on the evening of Monday, August 22, 2022, opposite the Holy Church of Panagia Faneromeni. A group of twenty Russians had gathered in an open space, aiming to celebrate the creation of the Russian flag. At one point, the 55-year-old Ukrainian woman came down from an apartment building in the area, holding a large knife, which she pointed out against them. The woman, who was intoxicated, made threats against the Russians because of the invasion of her country and at one point moved against them, as shown in a video circulated on Social Media.
At the spot were members of the Police, who with the help of civilians managed to immobilize and immediately disarm the woman.

With methodicalness, correct handling and persistent interrogations, the officers and members of the Limassol ICF led to a confession to the 55-year-old Greek Cypriot, who admitted that he directed together another 55-year-old, the gangster robbery that, as he had reported, was committed yesterday day noon in the middle of the Nicosia - Limassol highway.
The investigation of the much-discussed staged robbery was made after orderly movements of investigators and with targeted questions to the 55-year-old after gaps, contradictions and many question marks constantly arose. Eventually, the 55-year-old broke down and confessed that he and a 55-year-old friend staged the case with the intention of getting the €30,000 which was the proceeds of the hotel where the former works.
After the confession of the alleged victim, investigators also handcuffed the second suspect. The two were arrested on court warrants and the offences of conspiracy, theft and public harm are being investigated against them. It should be noted that the 55-year-old interrogated admitted that he directed the robbery as he faces financial problems while the second does not admit anything. Investigations into the case are ongoing with a view to finding the amount of money.
In the case there is no pistol, nor a second vehicle as the 55-year-old had reported. As "F" is in a position to know, the alleged perpetrator broke the glass of the vehicle with a metal object to make the script they had directed believable. The two are expected to be brought before the Limassol District Court today for a request for their detention.
What the two suspects directed can only be seen in a Netflix series, as the script included assailants wearing surgical masks, a pistol and a second vehicle with two other assailants, but none of this is true.
As it became known, the staged armed robbery was reported to have taken place around 12:15pm on Monday on the Nicosia - Limassol bypass, at the height of Parekklisia in the direction of Limassol. The scenario mentioned by the 55-year-old employee was that as soon as he got out of the exit, he was hit by a vehicle that stopped his car, while a second stopped behind it. Then the driver of the front car got off and after breaking with a pistol the glass of the door of his vehicle, under the threat of a gun and speaking to him broken Greek asked him for the bag with the money. In addition to the bag with the money, he said the assailant took the keys to the 55-year-old's vehicle as well as his cell phone.
The second suspect-perpetrator, after taking the bag with the €30,000 and the 55-year-old's belongings, entered the vehicle and then fled with the second vehicle following him on the highway in the direction of Limassol. The 55-year-old also claimed that he sought help from a passing driver, asking him to use the mobile phone where he called the Police. He spoke of three perpetrators who at the time in question wore surgical masks while driving rental vehicles.
