A barometric low, centred on the Aegean Sea, is moving east and is expected to affect Cyprus from late Tuesday night.
Today, the weather will be mostly cloudy and isolated rains are expected from time to time, while it is not excluded that a single thunderstorm will occur locally. The temperature will rise to around 20 degrees inland and on the coast and around 13 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tonight, the weather will remain mostly cloudy and early evening rains are expected in places, while on the east coast an isolated thunderstorm is not excluded. From midnight onwards, rains and local thunderstorms are expected, with the phenomena starting from the west and progressively affecting the whole island. Locally, the phenomena are expected to be prolonged or even intense, while on the highest peaks of Troodos it is not excluded that there will be snow or snow.
The temperature will drop to around 12 degrees inland, around 15 degrees in the south, east and north coasts, around 16 degrees in the rest of the coast and around 8 degrees in the higher mountains.

On Wednesday, the weather will be mostly cloudy and rain and local thunderstorms are expected, with the phenomena locally prolonged or even intense. On the highest peaks of Troodos, it is not excluded that there may be sleet or snow. From the afternoon onwards, the system recedes eastwards and the phenomena gradually weaken.
On Thursday, the weather will be partly cloudy and isolated rains are expected, mainly in the highlands. On Friday, periods of sunshine will alternate with periods of increased cloudiness.
The temperature will drop slightly on Wednesday to hover near but slightly above the average climatic values, while by Friday a gradual slight rise is expected.
