In full swing are the investigations of the ICF Limassol in relation to the infamous case of the Tsirio Stadium and the images that caused fierce reactions with the crowded western stand at the concert held on Tuesday night (6/9) by Greek artists, while there is a relevant decision of the Stadium Licensing Authority to limit the use of 50% in the upper tiers.
As it is known, last Friday and after what saw the light of day and the fierce reactions caused, instructions were given by the leadership of the Police as the Limassol Crime Detection Department investigated the whole case, as to the possibility of committing criminal offenses. It is recalled that about 15 thousand citizens were hosted in Tsirio on the evening of the concert, while in the western stand there were more than 5,000 people, despite the relevant restriction.
The circle of testimonies has opened and as the information of "F" reports, the investigators of the Tae Limassol have received testimonies from agents and stakeholders of the Gymnastics Association of Olympia. From the testimonies so far, what emerges is that the two sides (GSO - organizing company) had concluded a contract for the right to use the Stadium, with the GSO claiming that it had informed about the relevant restriction of 50% set by the Stadium Licensing Authority.
For the time being, it is being investigated whether criminal offenses were committed under any legislation, including the legislation of the Municipalities Law. It should be noted that on Friday afternoon (9/9) the vice-president of the Board of Directors, Polydoros Neofytidis, as well as the security officer Kostas Tsiakouris, resigned.
The information of "F" states that the GSO rented the stadium to the managing company for the amount of €40,000 while with rough calculations based on the cost of the ticket, the company seems to have received in its box office more than €400,000! However, the same information indicates that the organising company was subsequently informed of this restriction, having first issued and pre-sold tickets.
There were also criticisms for the 50% in the upper tier of the western stand yesterday for the fans of the Limassol team who attended the Sunday derby at the Tsirio Stadium, in the match between Apollon and Omonia. Asked by "F" and if there was a violation in the restriction, the police spokesman, Christos Andreou, noted that there was no violation.
As he said, apollo's tribune had a total of 3,903 fans, of which 1,530 were in the upper tier and 2,373 in the lower tier. He also noted that when the fans entered the stands there was a count.
