6 DEATHS, 3,611 NEW CASES - 5-11 August

The Ministry of Health announces that for the week of August 5 - 11, 2022, there were 6 deaths due to coronavirus, while 3,611 new cases were detected.

Specifically:

  • 6 deaths reported
They concern:
  • Man, aged 77, who passed away on 07/08/2022
  • Man, aged 95, who passed away on 07/08/2022
  • Woman, aged 83, who passed away on 08/08/2022
  • Man, aged 84, who passed away on 10/08/2022
  • Man, aged 86, who passed away on 11/08/2022
  • Woman, aged 72, who passed away on 11/08/2022
  • Total number of deaths with COVID-19 as the ultimate cause: 1,149.
  • 84 COVID-19 patients are being treated in SHSO hospitals
  • 11 in serious condition (ICU: 0 off ventilator/6 intubated, MAF: 5)
  • patients who ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized by intubation due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic tests:

  • A total of 70,602 diagnostic tests were performed
  • 3,611 new cases were detected (total cases 571,994).
  • Positivity rate in all tests 5,11%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

  • 3,022 molecular tests were performed
  • There were 302 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 9.99%

Total number of Rapid Antigen Tests:

  • 67,580 rapid antigen tests were performed
  • There were 3,309 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 4.9%

 Tracking:

  • molecular tests were performed and no positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0%)

Private initiative:

  • 2,574 molecular tests were performed, 216 positive cases were identified (positivity rate of 8.39%)
  • 47,317 rapid antigen tests were performed, 3,070 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 6.49%)

Through the programs of the Ministry of Health, 20,263 rapid antigen tests were carried out. 239 positive cases were identified.

  • Sampling points: 12,185 rapid detection tests identified 182 positive cases (positivity rate 1.49%)

Other

  • National Guard: 370 rapid antigen tests were performed and positive cases were identified (positivity rate 1.62%)
  • Nursing homes: 5,072 rapid antigen tests were performed, 44 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.87%)
  • Closed facilities: 2,636 rapid antigen tests were performed, new cases were identified (positivity rate 0.27%).
