The removal of the huge advertising signs from businesses within the municipal boundaries of Paphos, which the City Council decided a year ago, can still be seen by the citizens.
Although the municipal authority decided to remove these gigantic sized signs on the one hand since they are unsightly and in direct contradiction with the scale of the built and natural environment in Paphos and on the other hand because they cause a strong reaction of other traders, but also residents, these constructions are still in place.
The reason for this delay, they clarify speaking to "F" municipal sources, is the non-promotion yet of the relevant legislation for a vote, so that the relevant authorities have the right to intervene and impose on businesses the removal of these unsightly signs.
These giant signs are located in busy parts of the Municipality of Pafos and concern mostly specific supermarkets and fast food outlets.
The removal of the advertising signs is again being treated as a primary action for the Municipality of Pafos, since the complaints were strong from citizens that while much smaller signs are being removed from businesses within the framework of the lawfulness, these huge signs remained undisturbed due to the size of the businesses.
