In case of excess visits to personal doctors and paediatricians, provision is made for the imposition of a charge, depending on the age of the beneficiary, the State Health Services Organization (CYSO) said in a statement.
According to the HIO's instructions, if the beneficiary exceeds the maximum number of visits set for each age group, a personal doctor or paediatrician is obliged to pay a supplement of €15.
The number of visits per year for the age of 15-18 years is 3, for the age from 18-41 years old 4, for 41-51 years old 6, for 51-65 years old 8 and for 65 years old and over 10.
As far as visits to paediatricians are concerned, the number of visits per year for the age of up to one year is 10, for the age of 1-3 years old 8, for 3-6 years old 7, for 6-11 years old 4 and for 11-18 years old 3.
It is noted that the above regulation, both for visits to personal doctors and for visits to paediatricians, excludes chronic patients, low pensioners, recipients of guaranteed minimum income and their children.
The co-payment is paid to the secretarial staff of the hospitals and health centres of the CySEC, after informing the beneficiary by the personal doctor or the paediatrician.
