2,254 NEW CASES, THREE DEATHS - Monday 11 April

The Ministry of Health announces that today, April 11, 2022:

  • 3 deaths reported
  • They concern:
    • Woman, aged 82, who died on April 10
    • Man, aged 84, who died on April 10
    • Woman, aged 91, who died on April 11
  • Total number of deaths with a final cause of COVID-19: 980.
  • 204 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC
  • 29 in serious condition (ICU: 4 out of breath/5 intubated, PPE: 20)
  • Percentage of hospitalized patients without a history of vaccination: 56.87%
  • 11 patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized intubated due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic tests:

  • A total of 83,217 diagnostic tests were performed
  • 2,254 new cases were identified (total cases 459,677).
  • Positivity rate in total tests 2.71%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

  • 3,685 molecular tests were performed
  • There were 231 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 6.27%

Total number of rapid antigen tests (Rapid Test):

  • 79,532 rapid antigen tests were performed
  • There were 2,023 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 2.54%

 Tracking:

  • 240 molecular tests were performed and 14 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 5.83%)

Private initiative:

  • 1,259 molecular tests were performed, 169 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 13.42%)
  • 33,673 rapid antigen tests were performed, 1,309 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 3.89%)

Through the programmes of the Ministry of Health, 45,859 rapid antigen tests were carried out. 714 positive cases were identified.

  • Sampling points: 11,857 rapid detection tests identified 497 positive cases (positivity rate 4.19%)

Education

  • Primary Education: 18,072 rapid antigen tests, 71 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.39%)
  • Secondary Education: 9,962 rapid screening tests identified 40 positive cases (positivity rate 0.4%)
  • Test-to-Stay: 3,639 rapid antigen tests were performed and 37 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 1.02%)
  • Special Schools: 866 rapid antigen tests were performed and positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.58%)

Other

  • Nursing homes: 1,003 rapid antigen tests were performed, 55 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 5.48%)
  • Closed structures: 326 rapid antigen tests were performed, 4 new cases were identified (positivity rate of 1.23%).
