Winter landscape, with phenomena and low temperatures, is predicted to form in Cyprus the bad weather "Philippos". This system, the director of the Department of Meteorology, Kleanthis Nikolaidis, told "F", is expected to last until next week. "The area is affected by a deep barometric low, which was decided by the meteorological services of Greece, Cyprus and Israel, to take the name Philip from the Macedonian king," Said Mr. Nikolaidis and added: "Rains, storms, snow are expected up to the semi-mountainous, as well as a noticeable drop in the mercury." As he estimated, phenomena and low temperatures will persist next week, as "Philip" is a stagnant omega-type system. "Such systems are slow to disintegrate because they are self-sustaining."
Today the weather will be mostly cloudy, while local rain and isolated thunderstorms are expected, as well as snow in the mountains. From the afternoon onwards, the phenomena are limited. Winds will generally be very strong to strong. The phenomena are limited from noon onwards. The temperature will drop noticeably.
