2,866 NEW CASES, 3 DEATHS - Wednesday 9 March

The Ministry of Health announces that today, March 9, 2022, three people have died from coronavirus, while 2,866 new cases have been identified.

Specifically:

  • 3 deaths reported
  • They concern:
    • Man, aged 77, who died on March 8
    • Man, aged 71, who died on March 9
    • Man, aged 71, who died on March 9
  • Total number of deaths with a final cause of COVID-19: 886.
  • 124 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC
  • 25 in serious condition (ICU: 0 out of breath/10 intubated, PPE: 15)
  • Percentage of hospitalized patients without a history of vaccination: 56.46%
  • 19 patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized intubated due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic tests:

  • A total of 78,337 diagnostic tests were performed
  • 2,866 new cases were identified (total cases 341,383).
  • Positivity rate in total exams 3.66%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

  • 3,807 molecular tests were performed
  • 329 positive cases occurred
  • Positivity rate 8.64%

Total number of rapid antigen tests (Rapid Test):

  • 74,530 rapid antigen tests were performed
  • There were 2,537 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 3.4%

 Tracking:

  • 358 molecular tests were performed and 53 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 14.8%)
  • 778 rapid antigen tests were performed and 75 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 9.64%)

Ιδιωτική πρωτοβουλία:

  • Διενεργήθηκαν 1.533 μοριακές εξετάσεις, εντοπίστηκαν 221 θετικά περιστατικά (ποσοστό θετικότητας 14,42%)
  • Διενεργήθηκαν 34.713 τεστ ταχείας ανίχνευσης αντιγόνου, εντοπίστηκαν 1.482 θετικά περιστατικά (ποσοστό θετικότητας 4,27%)

Μέσω των προγραμμάτων του υπουργείου Υγείας διενεργήθηκαν 39.817 τεστ ταχείας ανίχνευσης αντιγόνου. Εντοπίστηκαν 1.055 θετικά περιστατικά.

  • Σημεία δειγματοληψίας: 21.014 τεστ ταχείας ανίχνευσης εντοπίστηκαν 855 θετικά περιστατικά (ποσοστό θετικότητας 4,07%)

Education

  • Secondary Education: 11,283 rapid screening tests identified 82 positive cases (positivity rate 0.73%)
  • Test-to-Stay: 3,071 rapid antigen tests were performed and 35 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 1.14%)

Other

  • Nursing homes: 1,307 rapid antigen tests were performed, 7 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.54%)
  • Closed structures: 2,008 rapid antigen tests were performed, new case was identified (positivity rate 0.05%).
  • Government Agencies: 147 rapid antigen tests were performed and no positive cases were detected (positivity rate 0%)
  • Industrial Areas: 209 rapid antigen tests were performed and no positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0%)
