A week of pancyprian traffic controls for the prevention of road collisions, with emphasis on driving at speeds beyond the permitted limit, announces the Police.
As stated by the Police in a statement, the roadside inspections, which will be carried out by the Traffic Police, will be intensified from tomorrow, Monday, March 21, 2022 until Sunday, March 27, 2022, while they will be carried out simultaneously at a Pan-European level, within the framework of the cooperation of the Cyprus Police with the European Roadpol Traffic Police Network.
During the traffic police checks, the Police stress, there will be zero tolerance for traffic violations that contribute to causing fatal and serious road collisions.
Undoubtedly, speed limit violation is a very serious factor in causing fatal and serious road collisions, and this reality flows effortlessly from the analysis of the statistics. In fact, speeding is one of the leading causes of road deaths and serious injuries.
