In the context of the docking at the port of Limassol, the French aircraft carrier FS CHARLES DE GAULLE, a guided tour of representatives of the media took place today.
The aircraft carrier is currently conducting training exercises, in cooperation with the Navy Command (DN) of the National Guard (NG).

Charles de Gaulle, who has sailed back to Limassol in 2010, 2016, 2020 and 2021, participates in the Clemenceau 22 mission, which is part of operation Inherent Resolve, against terrorism in the Middle East.
It carries 1,200 personnel, while its air wing consists of 458 people, 20 French Rafale fighters, two E-2C Hawkeye aircraft, two Dauphin Pedro and Panther search and rescue helicopters as well as a Caiman helicopter.

The Minister of Defence Charalambos Petrides and the Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Demokritos Zervakis, visited on Saturday the aircraft carrier, which, along with the ships accompanying it, will participate in joint exercises of naval cooperation (PASSEX), Search and Rescue (SAREX), as well as air defence (ADEX).
It is noted that during the departure of the media, the Ambassador of France to Cyprus came to the aircraft carrier, followed, a few minutes later, by the U.S. Ambassador and the Ambassador of Germany.
Charles de Gaulle is expected to sail from Limassol port within the week.
