At 119% of the normal from October 1 (start of the hydrological year) reached the rainfall in the free areas until the end of February.
According to preliminary data of the Department of Meteorology until 08:00 today, the total rainfall until February 28 amounted to 447.4 mm compared to 375.6 which is the normal based on historical data (1961-1990).
Based on the data, February has given a total of 46.7 millimetres of rain, which corresponds to 57% of normal rainfall for the month. The amount of rain for the last 24 hours was 3.2%.
It is noted that in February only the station at Stavros tis Psokas in Paphos exceeded 100% of the normal rainfall for the month.
It is recalled that the total rainfall in January amounted to 159% of the normal rainfall. It stood at 162.8mm versus 102.4 which was the normal one.
