One death was recorded in Cyprus, according to today's announcement by the Ministry of Health. At the same time, 3,951 new cases of the coronavirus were identified with the positivity rate standing at 4.1%.
Death concerns:
- Man, aged 84, who died on March 17
- Total number of deaths with a final cause of COVID-19: 905.
- 113 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC
- 22 in serious condition (ICU: 0 out of snorkel/8 intubated, PPE: 14)
- Percentage of hospitalized patients without a history of vaccination: 58.41%
- 22 patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized intubated due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.
Diagnostic tests:
- A total of 96,399 diagnostic tests were performed
- 3,951 new cases were identified (total cases 367,743).
- Positivity rate in total exams 4.1%
Total number of molecular tests (PCR):
- 3,395 molecular tests were performed
- There were 386 positive cases
- Positivity rate 11.37%
Total number of rapid antigen tests (Rapid Test):
- 93,004 rapid antigen tests were performed
- There were 3,565 positive cases
- Positivity rate 3.83%
Tracking:
- 389 molecular tests were performed and 53 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 13.62%)
- 754 rapid antigen tests were performed and 103 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 13.66%)
Private initiative:
- 1,511 molecular tests were performed, 284 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 18.8%)
- 37,736 rapid antigen tests were performed, 2,341 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 6.2%)
Through the programmes of the Ministry of Health, 55,268 rapid antigen tests were carried out. 1,224 positive cases were identified.
- Sampling points: 15,994 rapid detection tests identified 841 positive cases (positivity rate 5.26%)
Education
- Primary Education: 19,622 rapid antigen tests, 113 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.58%)
- Secondary Education: 10,730 rapid screening tests identified 87 positive cases (positivity rate 0.81%)
- Test-to-Stay: 4,788 rapid antigen tests were performed and 57 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 1.19%)
- Special Schools: 834 rapid antigen tests were performed and 2 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.24%)
Other
- Nursing homes: 1,029 rapid antigen tests were performed, 12 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 1.17%)
- Closed structures: 333 rapid antigen tests were performed; 2 new cases were identified (positivity rate 0.6%).
- Government Agencies: 1,184 rapid antigen tests were performed and 7 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.59%)
