ANOTHER FIVE DEATHS IN 2021 WITH FINAL CAUSE OF COVID-19

In the context of the recording of data by the Health Monitoring Unit, the Ministry of Health has updated the database it maintains on patient deaths, having recorded and verified all the data declared in the previous months in the Epidemiological Surveillance Unit.

As part of this test, it appears that the total number of patients who died with the final cause of COVID-19 as of March 17, 2022 is 910 and not 905, as stated in yesterday's daily announcement.

Specifically, the 5 deaths that were reported late    relate to:

  • Man, aged 83, who died on 29/08/2021
  • Woman, aged 68, who died on 01/09/2021
  • Woman, aged 66, who died on 05/09/2021
  • Woman, aged 96, who died on 26/09/2021
  • Woman, aged 68, who died on 25/10/2021

Therefore, as of today's daily announcement, new deaths with an underlying cause of death, COVID-19, will be added to the total number of 910. Of these, 551 are men and 359 are women.

The Ministry of Health updates its databases at regular intervals, aiming at the correct and complete recording of epidemiological surveillance data. For transparency purposes, the Ministry of Health will inform about any new data it records.
