The Ministry of Health announces that today, February 28, 2022:
- 2 deaths reported
- They concern:
- Man, aged 67, who died on February 27
- Woman, aged 80, who died on February 28
- Total number of deaths with a final cause of COVID-19: 856.
- 150 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC
- 37 in serious condition (ICU: 1 off ventilator/14 intubated, PPE: 22)
- Percentage of hospitalized patients without a history of vaccination: 60%
- 20 patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized intubated due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.
Diagnostic tests:
- A total of 128,114 diagnostic tests were performed
- 2,356 new cases were identified (total cases 322,516).
- Positivity rate in total tests 1.84%
Total number of molecular tests (PCR):
- 9,513 molecular tests were performed
- There were 358 positive cases
- Positivity rate 3.76%
Total number of rapid antigen tests (Rapid Test):
- 118,601 rapid antigen tests were performed
- There were 1,998 positive cases
- Positivity rate 1.68%
Tracking:
- 380 molecular tests were performed and 45 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 11.84%)
- 727 rapid antigen tests were performed and 50 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 6.88%)
Private initiative:
- 1,836 molecular tests were performed, 203 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 11.06%)
- 59,779 rapid antigen tests were performed, 1,347 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 2.25%)
Through the programmes of the Ministry of Health, 58,822 rapid antigen tests were carried out. 651 positive cases were identified.
- Sampling points: 17,229 rapid detection tests identified 379 positive cases (positivity rate 2.2%)
Education
- Primary Education: 20,170 rapid antigen tests, 72 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.36%)
- Secondary Education: 11,841 rapid screening tests identified 57 positive cases (positivity rate 0.48%)
- Test-to-Stay: 4,804 rapid antigen tests were performed and 65 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 1.35%)
- Special Schools: 722 rapid antigen tests were carried out and no positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0%)
Other
- National Guard: 331 rapid antigen tests were performed and 1 positive case detected (positivity rate 0.3%)
- Nursing homes: 1,477 rapid antigen tests were performed, 21 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 1.42%)
- Closed structures: 169 rapid antigen tests were performed, 3 new cases were identified (positivity rate of 1.78%).
- Government Agencies: 1,074 rapid antigen tests were performed and 3 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.28%)
- Industrial Areas: 278 rapid antigen tests were performed and no positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0%)
