PEYIA - REDEVELOPMENT OF CENTRAL AVENUE

 Filenews 28 February 2022

The project that was in the daily life and in the contacts of Pafos' stakeholders for two whole decades, without any visible result, is now in the process of being implemented. The redevelopment of the central avenue of the Municipality, Michalaki Kyprianou and the consequent connection of the central core of Pegeia with the tourist area of the Coral Bay has begun to be promoted, as the mayor of Pegeia, Marinos Lambrou, told "F".

Already, stressed the mayor of Pegeia, the first works have been carried out at the junction of Michalaki Kyprianou with Akamantos Street in order to increase safety in the area.

"It will be a two-phase project, the first of which will be two kilometres long for €2.5 million, while the second will rise to €5 million. The cost of the first phase will be paid by the Municipality of Pegeia, while the second concerns urban planning work". The improvement of the main road axis of Pegeia, according to Marinos Lambrou, includes lighting, construction of pavements, tree plantings and underground cables.
