Two deaths and 1,387 new cases of COVID-19 were announced Sunday by the Ministry of Health. The positivity rate fell further to 1.49%, while 148 COVID-19 patients are being treated in public hospitals.
The deaths relate to a 91-year-old man, who died February 27, and a woman, aged 74, who also died today.
The total number of deaths with a final cause of COVID-19 is 854.
Of the 148 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in the hospitals of the CSO, 36 are in serious condition. Of these, one is hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit off the ventilator, 13 are intubated and 22 are hospitalized in Increased Care Units. The percentage of hospitalized patients without a history of vaccination is 61.49%. Also, 24 patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized intubated due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.
As announced, a total of 93,207 diagnostic tests were performed and 1,387 new cases were identified, bringing the total number of cases to 320,160. The positivity rate in the total number of tests was 1.49%.
8,075 molecular tests (PCR) were performed, which resulted in 165 positive cases with the positivity rate amounting to 2.04%.
85,132 rapid antigen tests were performed and 1,222 positive cases were found, with a positivity rate of 1.44%.
As part of the tracing, 1,003 rapid antigen tests were performed and 66 positive cases were identified (positivity rate of 6.58%).
Following a private initiative, 995 molecular tests were performed and 71 positive cases were identified (positivity rate of 7.14%). Also, 35,288 rapid antigen tests were performed and 505 positive cases were identified (positivity rate of 1.43%).
Through the programmes of the Ministry of Health, 49,844 rapid antigen tests were carried out. 717 positive cases were identified. At the sampling points, 46,811 rapid detection tests were performed and 651 positive cases were identified (positivity rate of 1.39%). In nursing homes, 102 rapid antigen tests were performed but no positive cases were detected, while in closed facilities, 1,928 rapid antigen tests were performed without any positive result.
