NEW CLARIFICATIONS ON THE SPECIAL DINING AND ENTERTAINMENT PROTOCOL

The Ministry of Health, in the context of its efforts to ensure the proper functioning of the restaurants and entertainment areas and the implementation of the guidelines included in the Special Protocol that comes into force from tomorrow, Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 10 a.m., proceeds to the following differentiations:

The maximum number of people in restaurants, nightclubs, music and dance centres is 500 people, provided that the area of the space allows the ratio of 1.5 sq.m per person.

Specifically:

a) Dining areas (restaurants, taverns, cafes, pubs, snack-bars, bars, cafes), which include a dance floor and have more than 225 sq. m. of available service area (excluding kitchen areas, toilets, warehouses) and can serve more than 150 peoplethe entrance will be allowed:

  • In people 12 years and older who hold a valid negative antigen test (Rapid test) valid for 15 hours regardless of vaccination coverage or recovery certificate.
  • In children aged 6-11 years who hold a valid negative antigen test (Rapid test) valid for 7 days regardless of vaccination coverage or recovery certificate.
  • It is emphasized that the owner/manager of the premises/business must inform the Ministry of Health with a signed written solemn declaration that his premises will host more than 150 people based on his square meters and will provide music and dancing entertainment, as well as the details of the Safety Officer at the e-mail address: healthservices@mphs.moh.gov.cy (The Solemn declaration is included in the Special Protocol).

b) Dining areas (restaurants, taverns, cafes, pubs, snack-bars, bars, cafes), regardless of the capacity that does not include a dance floor, the entrance will be allowed:

  • In people without a history of vaccination with a 24-hour Rapid or PCR test.
  • In persons 12 years of age and older who have completed their vaccination program, or received a vaccine booster dose, or who hold a certificate of disease upon presentation of a valid vaccination or disease certificate.
  • In children aged 6-11 years with a history of vaccination upon presentation of a valid vaccination or disease certificate, or without a history of vaccination upon presentation of a valid negative antigen test (Rapid test) valid for 7 days.
  • Dancing is allowed around the table.

c) Nightclubs, music and dance centres, which have more than 225 sq. m. of available service area (excluding kitchen, toilets, warehouses) and can serve more than 150 peoplethe entrance is allowed:

  • In people 12 years and older who hold a valid negative antigen test (Rapid test) valid for 15 hours regardless of vaccination coverage or recovery certificate.
  • In children aged 6-11 years who hold a valid negative antigen test (Rapid test) valid for 7 days regardless of vaccination coverage or recovery certificate.

d) Nightclubs, music and dance centres, which according to the square meters serve less than 150 peoplethe entrance is allowed:

  • In people without a history of vaccination with a 24-hour Rapid or PCR test.
  • In persons 12 years of age and older who have completed their vaccination program, or received a vaccine booster dose, or who hold a certificate of disease upon presentation of a valid vaccination or disease certificate.
  • In children aged 6-11 years with a history of vaccination upon presentation of a valid vaccination or disease certificate, or without a history of vaccination upon presentation of a valid negative antigen test (Rapid test) valid for 7 days.

Citizens will be screened by showing the negative test in printed form or in a text message, or by presenting the vaccination or disease certificate in printed or digital form, while the person will be identified by showing proof of identification (identity card, passport, driver's license and birth certificate for children under 12 years old).
