Filenews 12 December 2021
Regarding the decision of the Council of Ministers for the distribution of self-tests to citizens from December 13, the Ministry of Health informs that the free distribution of self-tests by pharmacies will begin on December 20th and a package will be provided that includes five self-tests to each person who completed his vaccination regimen.
It is emphasized that the delay is due to the fact that the Ministry of Health proceeded with the appropriate actions to ensure that the self-tests that will arrive in Cyprus will detect all mutations, including "Omikron". Self-tests will be provided by GHS-contracted pharmacies, with beneficiaries presenting proof of identification. Beneficiaries are people who have completed their vaccination regimen. For those people who have completed their vaccination program in Cyprus and are not beneficiaries of the GHS, they will be able to receive the self-tests from points that will be indicated to them in each district. In the coming days, more information will be given on the use and distribution of self-tests.
