X-RAY DEPARTMENTS - WORK TO RULE FROM TODAY. SCHEDULED APPOINTMENTS FOR MORNINGS WILL OPERATE NORMALLY

 Filenews 8 November 2021

The X-ray workers of the CT scanners of state hospitals, announce that as of today they are reinstating the measure of abstinence from overtime with the waiting and call system on a nationwide basis.

As they say in a statement, this measure affects the functioning of CT departments during the afternoon and night hours.

They clarify that the scheduled examinations during the morning operation of the hospitals will be performed normally.

"We consider the reinstatement of the measure to be imperative given the refusal of the Ministry of Finance to approve the agreement concluded between the Ministry of Health and PASYDY since October 2019, as well as the inability of the CySEC either to adopt what we agreed with the Ministry of Health and implement it on its own initiative or to propose an alternative solution that creates positive prospects", Noted.

Due to the repeated postponements in the implementation of what has been agreed, it is reported, we believe that the whole effort has ended in a dead end.

The Board of Directors of the Branch of technologists, radiologists, physiotherapists, technologists and occupational therapists technologists, radiologists, reports that the affected colleagues for three years showed responsibility and patience, waiting for its approval.

The Branch apologizes to the patients for any inconvenience they may suffer and stresses that "unfortunately the indifference of the official side leaves us no other choice than the implementation of the aforementioned reaction measures".

They point out that the Ministry of Health and the Directorate of the CySEC were informed on October 27, 2021 of the intention to take measures in order to make all the necessary arrangements to cover the emergency cases that will occur during the afternoon and evening hours after November 8th.
