MEASURES TO REDUCE OVER-CROWDING AT WALK IN VACCINATION CENTRES. 8,000 VACCINATED Monday, of which 1,000 for the first dose

Regarding the problems due to delays in the vaccination centres walk in, the Minister of Health, Michalis Hadjipantelas, commented, stressing that today a decision was taken on measures to reduce these problems.

At the same time, he expressed his satisfaction with the pace of vaccinations in recent days, noting that only yesterday 8,000 people were vaccinated, of which 1,000 was with the first dose.

Regarding tomorrow's meeting of the Council of Ministers on the new measures against the pandemic, he said that the goal is for society and the economy to function as normally as possible during the Christmas holidays.

He also referred to and answered questions about the issue of the pandemic, the handling and decisions of the Ministry as well as the issue of vaccinations.

Mr. Hadjipantelas said that the goal with the new measures is for society to function smoothly during the holidays, noting that the Government, while considering the reactions of the various groups of the population, such as employers and organized parents, to be reasonable, listens to the recommendations of experts for the adoption of any measures.

Referring to the general management of the pandemic, Mr. Hadjipantelas said that the cost to the state, to deal with the consequences and limit the pandemic, until October 30th amounted to €125 million which  was beyond the approved budget of the Ministry.
