Changes in account charges and deposit pricing have been initiated by Hellenic Bank and has begun to inform its customers electronically about what will apply from January 3, 2022.
According to the information on the changes in the list of rights and charges for clients of the private sector, businesses and large enterprises, for the expenses of keeping an account / current accounts and overdraft accounts for the accounts of natural persons, the existing charge is €0.15 for each accounting entry in the account, €2 - €7 monthly, and with the revised charge from January 3rd it is €2.90 per month, regardless of the number of accounting entries.
The existing charge for business accounts is €0.15 for each accounting entry in the account, €5 - €30 per month. With the revised fee, accounts of small business clients of the private sector are €9 per month, regardless of the number of accounting entries. Accounts of business customers of the business sector and large enterprises are €15 per month regardless of the number of accounting entries.
For the costs of keeping an account / savings account the annual existing charge is €5. The revised charge becomes €5 per quarter. For 7-day notice bills, the existing charge is €1 per month and for notice bills beyond 7 days €5 per year. With the changes, from January 3rd, the charge is €5 per semester.
There is also a new fee called the liquidity fee (applicable to personal accounts in euro) and will apply to new accounts, with an opening date from 03/01/2022. The charge will be, current accounts, overdraft and savings accounts, 0.60% year-on-year. The charge is per month, on the daily balance of the account, which exceeds €100,000.
Basic accounts, warning and timely deposits do not apply. In addition, based on the changes promoted, savings account holders will be able to make free withdrawals in euro from any ATM in Cyprus and abroad. The monthly Basic account charge for the maintenance of an account and debit card remains stable at €1.50, through which the advantage of free cash withdrawals in euros from any ATM in Cyprus and abroad is offered.
There will also be changes in the pricing of deposits and concerns all customers of Hellenic Bank who are natural persons and professionals, excluding accounts of minors. As of January 3, 2022, the deposit rate is zero for current, savings, warning and overdraft accounts. For the new Basic accounts, as of 03/01/2022, accounts with a balance of <€100,000: 0.00%, accounts with a balance of ≥ €100,000: - 0.60%.
Hellenic Bank notes that regarding the method of calculating the interest rate for new Basic accounts, this will be calculated in the daily balance of the account exceeding €100,000 and the accumulated interest will be counted in the available balance of the account until its capitalization, which will take place twice a year, on 30 June and 31 December.
