New guidelines that fall under the regulations of the Infectious Diseases Law, issued by the Minister of Transport Yiannis Karousos, which concern both persons working in public transport and passengers over 12 years of age.
In particular, the Directives shall state:
1. For the purposes of the implementation of Regulation 13 (b) of the Infectious Diseases (Determination of Measures to Prevent the Spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus) Decree (No. 39) of 2021, persons employed in Public Passenger Transport – Public Passenger Transport (Regular Passenger Transport Buses at a fare per passenger, Buses with License E, Buses used for Closed Door Bus Services to and from airports (shuttle) and Taxis), as well as persons aged 12 years and over who are on board such vehicles must possess and be able to show to authorized officers under Regulation 48(c) Officers:
1.1. EU Digital Covid Certificate (EU Digital Covid Certificate), either
1.2. Certificate of integrated vaccination regimen for the COVID-19 disease, either
1.3. Proof of release in cases where they have contracted the COVID-19 disease and provided that no six months have elapsed since the date of sampling of their initial positive diagnosis, or
1.4. Proof of a negative laboratory test or rapid antigen detection test for COVID-19, sampled within 72 hours, or
1.5. CyprusFlightPass, electronically or in completed manuscripts, for persons who are not permanent residents of the Republic and who enter the Republic legally, through Larnaka and Paphos airports, or
1.6. For persons who are not permanent residents of the Republic and who legally enter the Republic through the legal points of entry into the Republic by sea,
1.6.1. The receipt they obtain from the Operator of the Marina in which they are docked, either
1.6.2. Disembarkation card which shall be guaranteed in the case of cruise ship passengers, or
1.7. EU Digital Covid Certificate.
1.8. Identity card or passport, as additional evidence.
2. The expiry of the documents referred to in subparagraphs (1.5) and (1.6) shall be seven (7) days after the date of arrival and thereafter these persons must present either a negative laboratory test or a rapid antigen detection test for the COVID-19 disease.
3. In addition, companies operating in Public Passenger Transport are required to inform passengers and to post in a prominent area in their premises, at the stations and inside of the vehicle (buses and taxis), the requirements for possession and demonstration of the relevant proofs of paragraph 1 of this announcement.
4. The use of a protective mask by employees and persons aged 6 years and over who are on board the vehicles referred to in paragraph 1 of this announcement is mandatory.
5. The above measures are applied from their publication on the official page of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works.
