The investigations of the Pafos I.E. for the armed robbery of an operation on the central and busy Agapenoros Street in Paphos on Friday afternoon continue at an intensive pace. The many closed circuits that exist in the area and the testimonies of the two women who were in the store, and which are considered particularly enlightening by the examiners of the case, create in the police authorities the optimism that soon the case will be solved.

As is clear from what one of the two women, the owner of the travel agency into which the armed masked man entered, grabbing more than two thousand euros, said while waiting for the amount to be handed over to him, he allegedly apologized for his action and the fear he caused by speaking in Russian. He also allegedly, according to a police source, said he was forced to carry out the robbery to help his own person in immediate need of medical assistance.

The armed robber's movements were recorded in closed circuits as he exited the operation and authorities have launched a manhunt to locate him.

The robbery was committed shortly after 6.00 on Friday afternoon, when an armed masked man entered the travel agency at the beginning of Agapenoros and, in ordering a pistol, asked for the money from the two women who were inside the store at the time, the owner and an employee. The two handed him more than 2,000 euros and he, after putting them in a bag he had with him, fled running in an unknown direction.

The assailant is described as a man aged about 30 years, of a slim physique, about 1.80m high.
