TRAVELLERS AT PAPHOS AIRPORT AGAIN WITH FORGED DOCUMENTS

Filenews 3 August 2021 -by Dora Christodoulou

The new phenomenon of people of African origin showing French and Belgian travel documents to leave France continues without stopping at Paphos airport, but in all cases it is established that they are forged documents.

Four other people showed up on Monday night at Paphos airport to depart for France. These are two 20-year-old men and two 26-year-olds, who presented French and Belgian travel documents during the passport check.

Further examinations showed that the documents in their possession were not genuine. They were arrested and interrogated, admitting their facts and are now charged with the offence of impersonation and forgery.

The case is being investigated by the Paphos T.E.A. This is the fifth case of impersonation investigated by the Paphos TAF in the last ten days, starring persons of African origin who, under unspecified circumstances, carry forged French documents in their possession to take advantage of the Paphos and France air link in order to travel to that country.
