A new increase in cases today in Cyprus with the Ministry of Health announcing 827 new cases of Covid-19 disease.
analytically:
- No deaths of patients with a final cause of death on COVID-19 were recorded today, so the total number of deaths remains 380.
- 89 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, of which 26 are in serious condition.
- A total of 41,606 disease detection tests have been carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
- 827 (positivity rate: 1.99%) new cases of COVID-19 disease have been identified by molecular tests (PCRs) and antigen rapid tests, bringing the total number of cases to 79,636.
A. Deaths from COVID-19:
No deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded. Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 remains 380, of which:
- 254 men (67%), and
- 126 women (33%).
The average age of the deceased from the disease is 77.3 years.
B. Hospitalized:
A total of 89 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in THE O.C.P. hospitals, 26 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 26 patients in serious condition, 10 are intubated, two are hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and 14 are in an Increased Care Unit.
In detail the situation in the hospitals is as follows:
C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 41,606 diagnoses currently carried out, 6,131 were made using the molecular method (PCR) and 35,475 using the antigen rapid test, 827 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:
- 62 cases out of 399 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases.
- 6 cases from 2,141 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
- 116 cases out of 3,013 samples taken through a private initiative.
- 5 cases from 175 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 46 cases from 820 samples tested using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
- 592 cases from 34,655 samples examined using the antigen rapid test.
In addition, the following tests were carried out, without the detection of a case:
- 403 samples taken as part of the referral programme by Personal Physicians and special teams control through the Public Health Clinics.
