NATIONAL REPORT - POSITIVITY RATE REMAINS AT 0.1%

 Filenews 4 June 2021

The weekly positivity rate moved lower, according to the latest National Reporting data.

After a marked improvement in epidemiological indicators, as a result of the vaccination coverage of the population, but also the correct observance of individual protection measures and health protocols by the majority of citizens, Cyprus is now painted orange on the ECDC map. Despite the lifting of measures and the restart of the economy and social activity, attention and vigilance continue to be required from all, alongside vaccinations, in order to remain on an improvement path that will allow us to move forward more safely.

The results of the Ministry of Health's antigenic test programme show that the rate of positivity in Cyprus in the last week has remained stable at 0.1%. In the Provinces, the positivity rate decreased in Larnaca and Famagusta from 0.2% to 0.1% and remained stable in Limassol Provinces (0.2%), Nicosia (0.1%) and Nicosia (0.1%). and Paphos (0.0%).

The weekly positivity rate in nursing homes is now at 0.

As far as the cumulative impact is concerned, the picture remains very good, since the downward trend continues and now reaches the threshold of 150/100,000, i.e. 130/100,000. In particular, there is a large reduction in the Provinces:

  • Famagusta: from 327,2/100,000 to 222,9/100,000
  • Larnaca: from 200/100,000 to 99,3/100,000
  • Limassol: from 242/100,000 to 177.2/100,000
  • Nicosia: from 199,5/100,000 to 103,9/100,000
  • Paphos: from 119,5/100,000 to 54,5/100,000

The cumulative incidence of 14 days of COVID-19 (diagnosed cases of 14 days per 100,000 inhabitants)1 , an indicator reflecting the rate of active cases of COVID-19 in the population (prevalence of active disease) 2 , is 130 per 100,000 inhabitants (Figure 3).
