Filenews 3 June 2021
At 8:00 tomorrow morning, the crossings will resume at all nine barricades.
The crossings will reportedly not accept SMS by indicating the results of the rapid test or PCR, but a document in a language or languages understood in the other community, which means that English should also be included, at least in the name and ID or passport number.
On this subject, clarification is expected later in the day.
Vaccines
Meanwhile, 5000 AstraZeneca will be delivered to the T/C community on Thursday morning through the Bi-Community Technical Committee for Health, according to a statement from Leonidas Filatou.
He also said he expects the Republic's Ministry of Health next week to confirm the amount of vaccine doses to be given to the T/C side next time. He expects the quantity to be larger but is not yet able to say exactly when the next dose quantity will be given to the T/C community.
Asked about this, Mr. Filatou said that the Technical Committee every 14 days would exchange epidemiological data and make an assessment of the epidemiological picture.
In response to a question about when to discuss what will happen to those who have been fully vaccinated, Leonidas Filatou recalled that the Greek Cypriot side had suggested that those vaccinated with licensed vaccines should not have to provide laboratory testing evidence at the crossings, but this had not been accepted by the Turkish Cypriot side. The issue, he said, will be discussed again in the Technical Committee with the approval of the Chinese Sianovac, from the Republic of Cyprus.
