The Paphos Region Tourism Development and Promotion Company continues its efforts to upgrade the tourist experience and implement actions that contribute to the transformation of Paphos Province into a Smart destination has recently completed the first phase of planning and started the installation of 12 smart signs with pilot application at various points of interest of the province.
As the director of EFF Paphos, Nasos Hatzigeorgiou, pointed out, these smart signs are made of eco-friendly materials, are distinctive in size and will be connected via the internet where visitors will be provided with innovative, rich, intelligent and interactive information.
After initially scanning the QR code, the visitor will be able to choose from his smart device the language of his choice, while he will be offered a wide range of information options from simple description, rich photographic material, audio tour to video, 360o tour.
THE EFF Paphos plans to place such signs in various areas initially inland, on a pilot basis, in communities such as Crete Terra, Arodes, Neo Choio, Lysos, Gilia-Agia Marina, Pomo, etc.
At the same time, the EFF has been in progress the production of the required content while at the same time monitoring and recording electronic statistics on the use of each plate. If in the coming months the results of the use of these signs are encouraging then this practice, where it can be, will be extended to other communities, regions and points of interest.
