In the context of continuous surveillance of the country's epidemiological picture, so that epidemiological indicators are assessed on a regular basis, employers and workers are reminded that 50% of workers who continue to work in physical presence are subjected to rapid antigen detection tests on a weekly basis. This is stated in a communication by the Ministry of Health, while recalling that in enterprises/services, where the number of employees working in physical presence does not exceed five (5) persons, testing is mandatory for all persons.
According to the Communication, the aim is, through increased tests, to identify positive incidents in a timely manner and isolate them, thus limiting the spread of the virus within workplaces and, by extension, in the intra-family and social environment.
Since on Easter Day, social contacts were increased, but also in view of the return after the Easter holidays of the majority of workers to their work from tomorrow, employees are invited to undergo tests at sampling points operating in all provinces either through the Ministry of Health program free of charge or in private laboratories at their own expense.
It is recalled that the following categories of workers are excluded from the obligation to perform a rapid antigen test weekly:
- Persons holding a valid vaccination certificate against COVID-19 from the Republic have completed their vaccination regimen with any authorised vaccine and 14days have passed since the last dose was administered, and
- People who have been positively diagnosed with COVID-19 disease in the last six months.
