431 NEW CASES, SUNDAY

No deaths have occurred in the last 24 hours due to coronavirus, while positive incidents have reached 431.

According to the Ministry of Health:

  • No deaths of patients with a final cause of death on COVID-19 were recorded today, so the total number of deaths remains 261.
  • 210 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 48 of whom are in serious condition.
  • A total of 54,842 disease detection tests have been carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
  • 431 (positivity rate: 0.79%) new cases of COVID-19 disease have been identified by molecular tests (PCRs) and antigen rapid tests, bringing the total number of cases to 47,713.

Here are today's results in detail.

A. Deaths from COVID-19:

No deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded today. Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 remains 261, of which:

  • 173 men (66%), and
  • 88 women (34%).

The average age of the deceased from the disease is 79 years.

B. Hospitalized:

A total of 210 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in THE HOSPITALS, 48 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.

Of the 48 patients critical, 24 are intubated, four are hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and 20 are in an Increased Care Unit.

In detail the situation in the hospitals is as follows:

C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):

Of the 54,842 diagnoses currently carried out, 2,898 were made using the molecular method (PCR) and 51,944 using the antigen rapid test, 431 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:

  • 84 cases from 1,164 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases.
  • 28 cases from 1,159 samples taken through a private initiative.
  • 3 cases from 105 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
  • 2 cases from 470 samples taken under the referral program by Personal Physicians and special teams control through Public Health Clinics.
  • 2 cases from 101 samples tested using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
  • 312 cases out of 51,843 samples tested using the antigen rapid test.
