It is worth noting that in a speech the Minister of Justice, Emily Yolitis, called for an end to crowding, such as those observed on Sunday night in the centre of Limassol by carnival-goers.
In particular, Ms. Yolitis, speaking to the Sigma tv channel's main news bulletin, said: "I appeal to the citizens and parents who are watching these images. The images we see are disturbing. The police showed tolerance this afternoon but these images are out of reason."
"I want everyone to understand that the situation is marginal. I hope the images don't affect our epidemiological picture," she said.
