Four deaths of patients with COVID-19 disease and 158 new cases of coronavirus, the Ministry of Health announced for the last 24 hours.
According to a notice, 153 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 51 of whom are in serious condition.
Deaths from COVID-19:
The four people who died with the final cause of death attributed to COVID-19 concern:
- Man, aged 55, with underlying disease, who ended up in Nicosia General Hospital.
- Man, aged 88, with underlying disease, who ended up in Famagusta General Hospital.
- Woman, aged 75 years, without mentioning underlying diseases in the Medical Certificate of Causes of Death, which ended up in the Intensive Care Unit of Nicosia General Hospital.
- Woman, aged 73 years, without mentioning underlying diseases in the Medical Certificate of Causes of Death, which ended up in the Intensive Care Unit of Nicosia General Hospital.
Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 is 197, of which:
- 132 men (67%), and
- 65 women (33%).
The average age of the deceased from the disease is 80 years.
B. Hospitalized:
A total of 153 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in THE OKYP hospital, 51 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 51 patients critical, 28 are intubated, eight are hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and 15 in an Increased Care Unit.
In detail the situation in the hospitals is as follows:
C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 13,594 laboratory diagnoses currently carried out, 1,665 were carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and 11,929 using the antigen rapid test, 158 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:
- 38 cases out of 335 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases
- 17 cases from 765 samples taken through a private initiative.
- 7 cases from 271 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 96 cases from 11,929 samples tested using the antigen rapid test.
In addition, the following laboratory tests were carried out, without the detection of a case:
- 146 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
- 122 samples taken under the programme of referrals by Personal Physicians and control of special teams through the Public Health Clinics.
- 26 samples taken under the migrant structure control programme.
