SLAUGHTERHOUSES REOPEN

Back to... normality of the two slaughterhouses which were closed due to the detection of incidents of coronavirus after everything was done on the basis of the protocols and there will be no problem of the availability of meat on the market, the Director of Veterinary Services says.

In a statement on state radio, Christodoulos Pippis said that after the relevant examinations were carried out that were intended to be carried out by the protocol for disinfection, the relevant ones were submitted to the Ministry of Health and after evaluation by the epidemiological surveillance unit of the Ministry was given permission to reopen the second slaughterhouse in Agios Ioannis of Malounda.

On Sunday, the Cypra slaughterhouse in Kato Moni reopened.

Mr Pippis said that at this stage there is no problem with the availability of meat on the market.

With regard to the slaughterhouse in Kato Moni, Mr. Pipis noted that if he did not meet the criteria required by the relevant health protocol, no reopening permit would be granted.

It is noted that this slaughterhouse is expected to reopen with new staff.
