The degree of readiness of Cypriot businesses for e-invoicing and digital reporting is assessed by the competent authorities, through a questionnaire prepared in the context of the work of the Interdepartmental Group.

The initiative is part of the preparation for the significant changes expected in the coming years at European and national level. The new requirements are estimated to affect invoicing and data submission processes, as well as information systems and the internal operations of businesses.

Cyprus is one of the most interesting cases within the European Union. While Europe is facing low birth rates, ageing and long-term population shrinkage, Cyprus shows a clearly more dynamic demographic picture, according to the content of Eurostat's Key figures on Europe 2026 report, which covers people, society, economy and business, environment and natural resources.

This does not mean that Cyprus does not face problems. However, it does mean that, in several of the main indicators, it is in a different position from Greece and Southern European countries.

Significant disparities in living conditions, income and housing between the large urban centres and the countryside of the European Union are brought to light by the latest Eurostat data. At the heart of the analysis is Cyprus, which records some of the most extreme and particular trends in Europe, especially in the real estate sector.

Eurostat data for 2025 paints a picture of living conditions in the European Union according to the degree of urbanisation and looks at three categories: cities, towns and suburbs, and rural areas. In 2025, 92.7 million people in the European Union, or around 20.9% of the population, were at risk of poverty or social exclusion. The picture was not the same in the three categories of areas. The rate was 21.4% in rural areas, 21.0% in cities and 20.4% in towns and suburbs.

The Authorities of the British Bases draw the attention of the citizens as the road will remain closed during the day due to works.

The M1 road, in the area of the Akrotiri British Bases Police Station, will remain closed today, Monday, September 21, between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00, for urgent repair work on critical underground infrastructure.

During the road stoppage, there will be appropriate road signs and designated diversion routes will be implemented, with the aim of guiding drivers and ensuring the smooth and safe conduct of traffic.

The District Self-Government Organization (EOA) of Nicosia is in a head-on collision with the state, declaring in the most categorical way that it will not accept the transfer of legal, financial and administrative responsibilities for the long-term shortages of adequate infrastructure and the country's failure in the field of waste management.

In a memorandum sent by the president of the EOA Nicosia, Konstantinos Yiorkadjis, to the president and members of the parliamentary committee for the Monitoring of Development Plans and the Control of Public Expenditure, the Organization sets clear "red lines".
