Heavy rain has prevailed in several areas of Cyprus, since the early morning hours of Sunday (04/10).

Citizens have already started posting videos on Social Media, in which the rainy scene is captured.

In addition, the Meteorological Service has issued a yellow warning for isolated strong storms, valid from 03:30 on Sunday morning until 18:00 in the afternoon.

According to the warning, strong storms are expected to affect the island from time to time.

During a storm, hail is likely to occur, while winds may change and strengthen.

The intensity of the rain locally is expected to exceed 35 millimeters per hour.

Today, the weather will be cloudy at times and local rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected. Hail is likely to fall in a storm, while the winds will change and strengthen. Winds will be mainly southeast to southwest, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be a little rough. The temperature will rise to around 27 degrees inland and on the coasts and to 17 degrees in the higher mountains.

Tonight, the weather will be partly cloudy, while isolated rains or a storm are expected later on the coast. The winds will be variable, weak, 3 Beaufort and the sea will be calm to a little rough. The temperature will drop to 14 degrees inland, around 18 on the coast and 7 degrees in the higher mountains.

On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, increased clouds will be observed from time to time, which in the afternoon are expected to give isolated rains and isolated thunderstorms, mainly in the mountains and inland.

The temperature will gradually rise slightly until Wednesday, to fluctuate slightly below the average climatic values.
