THE MASTER PLAN OF THE INVESTMENT IN TROZENA WAS PRESENTED - NEW TECHNICAL STUDIES ARE REQUESTED BY THE COMPETENT SERVICES - Filenews 6/10 by Ioanna Mantziipa

The process for the large investment in the area of Trozena is entering the final stretch, after the last meeting held last week (30/9) at the offices of the District Self-Government Organization (EOA) of Limassol, with the participation of all stakeholders.

During the meeting, the investor and his consultants presented the master plan of the project, with the aim of proceeding with the examination of the urban planning application and enabling the issuance of the relevant permit.

The meeting was attended, among others, by the President of the Community Council of Arsos and Gerovasa-Trozena, Yiannakis Giannakis, the Commissioner for the Environment, Elias Myrianthous, the Commissioner for the Development of Mountain Communities, Charalambos Christofinas, representatives of the Department of Environment and the Game and Fauna Service, as well as representatives of the EOA Limassol. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the investor, researchers and environmentalists of the project, who presented the data to date, as well as the master plan of the development.

According to information from "F", during the meeting the next steps for the examination of the application were agreed, with the main parameter being that the entire project should be evaluated as a whole and cumulatively. Specifically, it was agreed that the examination would not be carried out in a piecemeal manner for each residence or individual development, but should concern the entire project, in order to assess the environmental and other impacts that may arise from the development as a whole.

At the same time, the Department of Environment and the Game and Fauna Service asked the applicants to prepare and submit some additional studies and data, which were deemed necessary for the completion of the evaluation. These are, according to the same information, technical issues that need to be examined and reflected in the relevant studies. The investor's researchers and environmentalists accepted the relevant requests and committed to prepare and deliver the additional studies to the competent services.

Based on the data so far, the process is expected to proceed to the next stage, with the aim of examining the application for the issuance of the planning permit.

At the same time, according to information from "F", no work is being carried out at the construction site.
