Weak low pressure prevails in the area, however a barometric low with a center in the Ionian Sea moves southeast and will affect the area from Wednesday afternoon.
Today, the weather will be partly cloudy and at times locally cloudy, while at noon and afterwards isolated rains and the occurrence of an isolated storm are expected, mainly in the mountains, north and inland. Gradually until late afternoon the weather will become mostly cloudy and there will be isolated light rains. Winds will be mainly southwest to northwest, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and in the afternoon on the windward coasts temporarily moderate, 4 Beaufort. The sea will be generally calm to a little rough. The temperature will rise to around 28 degrees inland, on the south and east coasts, around 27 on the west and north coasts and around 19 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tonight the weather will be mostly cloudy, while isolated rains are gradually expected, especially in the west and north where the occurrence of an isolated storm is not excluded later. The winds will become downhill, weak, 3 Beaufort and the sea will be calm to a little rough. The temperature will drop to around 18 degrees inland, around 21 on the coast and around 11 degrees in the higher mountains.
On Wednesday the weather will be mostly cloudy, while local rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected at times, especially in the western half of the island. Hail is expected to fall in a storm and the winds to change and strengthen. During the afternoon hours onwards, a deterioration of the weather is expected, initially in the west and progressively in the rest of the island. The phenomena may be intense or even prolonged in places.
On Thursday and Friday the weather will remain mostly cloudy and local rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected at times. Hail is expected to fall in a storm and the winds to change and strengthen.
The temperature until Friday will gradually drop, to fluctuate below normal levels for the season.
