TARGETED CAMPAIGN BY PAPHOS TRAFFIC POLICE REGARDING VIOLATIONS BY USERS OF PERSONAL MOBILITY DEVICES - Pafos Press 28/9
Paphos Traffic Police conducted a targeted campaign today, September 27, 2026, to address violations by users of personal mobility devices. The operation was carried out in cooperation with a member of the Paphos Bicycle Police unit and under the supervision of the Paphos Traffic Police Road Safety Officer.
The campaign took place between 07:00 and 19:00 within the city of Paphos and focused on violations related to the use of personal mobility devices, as well as other traffic violations.
According to the Police, a total of 48 citations were issued during the campaign. The recorded violations included:
14 citations for using a personal mobility device in a prohibited area.
10 citations for using a personal mobility device without a protective helmet.
4 citations involving individuals carrying objects placed on the device.
1 citation for using a device outside the designated traffic lane. 1 violation regarding failure to comply with traffic lights and traffic signs.
1 violation regarding a driver's failure to use the appropriate hand signal.
3 violations issued to owners or persons responsible for the custody of the vehicles, for failing to take necessary measures to prevent their use by minors under the age of 17.
The Police are continuing their checks with the aim of ensuring road safety and compliance with relevant legislation by all road users.
