On Sunday, the Municipality of Geroskipou, AKTI (AKTI Project and Research Centre), the American University of Beirut – Mediterraneo, and local residents sent a message raising awareness about environmental protection from the Geroskipou municipal beach.
A cleanup of the Geroskipou municipal beach was organized to mark World Tourism Day and support the potavristou environmental awareness campaign, which AKTI has been conducting throughout September.
According to a statement from the organizers, the scene that greeted the participants was disheartening.
