A warning about 97 products that may endanger the health and safety of consumers was issued by the Consumer Protection Service, which is Cyprus' single point of contact for the European Safety Gate system.
According to the Notice, the products were notified to the system in the week beginning 14 September 2026 and are included in Factsheet 37. They were found in the markets of various European Union member states.
The 97 products were allocated, for the purpose of controlling the Cypriot market, to the following competent government authorities:
Consumer Protection Service: 21 products.
Department of Electromechanical Services: 36 products.
Labour Inspection Department: 15 products.
Department of Road Transport: 10 products.
Pharmaceutical Services Department: 7 products.
Health Services: 5 products.
Environment Department: 3 products.

It is noted that the Safety Gate website is also provided in Greek.

The Consumer Protection Service invites economic operators, in case they place or have placed these products on the market, to immediately notify the respective competent authority.
Furthermore, it calls on consumers, in case they own the above products, where appropriate, to stop using them, return them to the store from which they have purchased them and inform the respective competent authority.
